Our terms of service

These terms apply to grooming, pet sitting and dog walking provided by Pawsitively Southern LLC, and to your use of this website. Booking an appointment or dropping off your pet means you agree to them on behalf of yourself and your pet.

The agreement

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you are the owner of the pet, or are authorized by the owner to arrange care for that pet. You also confirm that the information you give us — age, breed, medical history, temperament, bite history — is accurate and complete.

Accurate information is how we keep your dog safe. If something changes between booking and your appointment, tell us before we start.

Booking and confirmation

A request is not an appointment until we confirm it. We confirm every request by phone or text, normally within one business day. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9AM – 5PM; our number accepts texts at any hour.

Grooming is offered on a recurring 2, 4 or 6 week basis as well as one at a time. If you are on a recurring schedule, your standing slot is held for you and the terms below apply to each visit.

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service — for any pet or any client — where safety, health or conduct makes it the right call.

Vaccinations and health

Proof of current rabies vaccination is required before any service. We need paperwork from your veterinarian — tags are not accepted. We recommend, but do not require, that dogs be current on distemper and bordetella.

Please do not bring a pet who is contagious, running a fever, vomiting, or recovering from surgery. If we find fleas or ticks, we will treat the coat with a medicated bath and add the cost of that treatment to your invoice, so the salon stays clean for the dogs who come after yours.

Tell us in advance about allergies, skin conditions, seizures, heart or breathing conditions, hip or joint problems, and any medication your dog is on.

Drop-off and pickup

Please arrive at your scheduled time, with your dog leashed or crated. Most pets are in the salon for two to four hours depending on size, coat and condition; we text you when your dog is ready and ask that you collect them promptly, as we do not board.

Arriving more than fifteen minutes late may mean we have to shorten the service or reschedule, because the day is booked around each appointment. Please walk your dog before drop-off — a bathroom break beforehand makes the whole visit easier.

We ask owners not to stay during the groom. Most dogs settle faster when they cannot see you, and a distracted dog on a grooming table is a safety risk.

Cancellations and no-shows

Please give us at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. A text is fine, any time of day. With that much notice there is never a fee.

Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may mean we ask for a deposit to hold future slots, or ask a recurring client to book one visit at a time. Illness, emergencies and weather are exceptions — just tell us.

If we ever have to cancel on you — illness, a family emergency, unsafe roads — we will let you know as early as we can and get you the first slot that works.

Matted coats and humane clipping

Severe matting is painful. De-matting a heavily matted coat pulls at the skin and takes hours, so in those cases the humane choice is a short clip. We will always talk to you before we make that call, and we will explain what your dog's coat will look like afterwards.

Clipping a matted coat carries risks we cannot fully remove: nicks, clipper irritation, redness, itching, self-inflicted scratching, and skin problems that were hidden under the mats and only become visible once the coat is off. By agreeing to the service you accept those risks.

Coats that need extra time — heavily matted, double, long or triple coats — are priced accordingly, and we will quote you before we begin.

Behavior and safety

You must disclose any history of biting, snapping or aggression at booking. We take safety — your dog's and our team's — as the first priority, and a stressed or reactive dog is at greater risk of injury from grooming equipment.

We may stop a groom at any point if continuing is not safe. If we stop partway through, you are charged for the work completed, and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right salon for your dog.

If a pet bites a member of our team, we are required to report it to the appropriate county authority in accordance with South Carolina law.

Senior and special-needs pets

We are glad to groom older dogs and dogs with health conditions, and we will work in short sessions with plenty of breaks. Grooming an elderly or medically fragile pet does, however, carry a higher risk of stress or of aggravating an existing condition.

For senior and special-needs pets we groom for comfort and cleanliness rather than for a show finish, and we may ask for your veterinarian's blessing first.

Pet sitting and dog walking

For visits to your home you agree to provide reliable access, clear written instructions, adequate food and medication for the whole booking, a collar with current identification, and a working way to reach you. Keys and access codes are kept securely and shared only with your assigned sitter or walker.

Dogs are walked on a leash at all times. We do not use dog parks or off-leash areas unless you ask us to in writing, and we will shorten or skip a walk in dangerous heat, cold or storms — your dog's safety comes before the schedule.

You authorize us to seek veterinary care if your pet appears to need it and you cannot be reached, and you agree to be responsible for the cost of that care. Please tell us about anyone else who will be in the home during the booking.

Pricing and payment

Prices shown on this site are starting points. Final pricing depends on size, coat type, coat condition, behavior and the time the groom actually takes — and we will always tell you before we add to a quote.

Payment is due when the service is complete, before pickup. Recurring pet sitting and walking bookings may be invoiced by arrangement. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never store your card details.

Tips are never expected and always appreciated.

Photos and reviews

Unless you tell us otherwise, you give us permission to photograph your pet and to use those photographs on our website, on social media and in printed materials, without payment. We never publish your name or address alongside a photo.

Tell us at any time — at booking, at drop-off, or later by email — and we will stop photographing your dog and remove existing photos. If you send us a review or testimonial, you are giving us permission to quote it with your first name and your dog's name.

Liability

We handle every dog with care, and we carry the insurance a professional salon should carry. Grooming is still hands-on work with sharp tools on a living animal, and some risk cannot be removed.

You agree that we are not liable for pre-existing conditions, for conditions discovered under a matted coat, for reactions to shampoos or products your dog has not had before, or for stress reactions in an elderly or medically fragile pet. If your pet is injured while in our care, we will tell you immediately and arrange veterinary attention.

Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question. Nothing here limits liability for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving Greenville County. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

We may update these terms as the business changes; the date at the top of this page tells you when we last did. Booking after an update means you accept the updated terms.

Anything unclear? Ask us — we would rather explain it now than sort it out later.
